WELCOME TO RENAISSANCE CHURCH
WHO IS RENAISSANCE CHURCH
Our Mission Statement
One God. One People. Many Stories. Changing the World.
Our Vision Statement
Renaissance Church exists to tell the sacred story of Jesus Christ, painting a vision of hope that speaks and restores a broken generation into the Father’s original intention. A mosaic of dreamers from every nation, class, age and background singing a melody of unity and giving humanity a clear glimpse of heaven. Through creativity, authenticity, service and the supernatural we desire to demonstrate the love of Jesus in a manner that shows how every life can become a work of beauty in the artful hands of God.
Our Core Values
GENEROSITY: We believe that it is “more blessed to give than receive” (Acts 20:35) and we have been “blessed to be a blessing” (Gen. 12:2). In response to this belief we will give sacrificially to fund missionaries and mission teams, finance the rebuilding of schools, community centers, among other places in our city/region and further the vision of Renaissance Church by illustrating with our money, that our hearts are focused on the kingdom of God.
MOSAIC: We are a church of all colors, backgrounds, styles and generations. That needs to be visible in everything we do. Our Jesus community will have a global/transnational flavor, recognizing that God has summoned us to His side, not to a particular flag or political perspective. We aim to develop a mosaic community that in addition to race/ethnicity divide, that is eclectic in perspective, experience and class
CREATIVITY: We are a church that captures the imagination. We inspire dreams, joys, and possibilities. We challenge the status quo, hunger for the unprecedented, and attempt the creatively impossible. We long to illustrate the nature of a creative God by being a church of creativity, excellence and vision.
We will communicate the epic of God in a way that people can understand. We will take full advantage of the tools this postmodern/post-Christian/technological age affords us to tell His story, being fluent in the ‘native tongues’ in which our culture speaks teaching our generation a new language of faith.
SUPERNATURAL: We are a church that believes in the SUPERNATURAL dimension of the Holy Spirit. We will be desperate for the presence, power and nearness of God. We will passionately pray for the supernatural ‘4th dimension of God’ and the release of the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth. We will seek the All Powerful God to do the impossible (miracles, signs and wonders, healings, etc.) through us.
ENGAGING: We are a church that isn’t content with mere philosophy, dead religion, or distant theology. Just as Jesus called His disciples into an experiential adventure, we are to engage our generation as Jesus would. That means we will be vigilant in feeding the poor, easing suffering, building and rebuilding homes, moving into struggling areas and investing our lives, serving schools their leaders and their families, volunteering in aid clinics/recovery centers and many, many other ways. Condemnation, judgment, and angry words have been the Christianity’s signature far too often. We will demonstrate and speak of Jesus, (through our actions) that He is not simply the God of the synagogue, but He is (and more truly) the God of the marketplace.
EXCELLENCE: We believe excellence honors God and inspires people. We are committed to strengthening our weaknesses and maximizing our strengths. As a result, change is not an option; but necessary for continued breakthrough and impact. We will be a community of excellence and the pursuit of excellence is a part of our DNA.
TRANSFORMATIVE: We exist in an era where there is a splintering of places where people historically have received their relational/personal/professional foundations (home, church, school, mentors, coaches, etc.). Beyond practical teaching, we must train Jesus followers how to apply kingdom principles into every aspect of life (educational, financial, vocational, relational, etc.).
BELIEFS
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, without error in the original language.
God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in the three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Trinity.
Jesus
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His complete conquest over the power of Satan, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His sure return.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the present ministry on the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling presence enables believers to live godly lives full of power.
The Church
We believe the church consists of all those who truly believe in Jesus Christ and His atoning death and who trust in Him as their Lord and Savior. We believe that God works through local churches to establish His kingdom on earth.
Salvation
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of the lost and that this salvation is wholly by grace through faith.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 are available and in operations in the Body of Christ today.
Baptism and Communion
We believe in the ordinance of Baptism in water (by immersion) in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, on the authority of Jesus’ name. We also believe in the ordinance of Communion.
Heaven and Hell
We believe in the resurrection of both and lost and the saved. The lost unto eternal damnation and separation from God; the saved unto eternal life in the presence of God.
