REN KIDZ (New Born – 5th Grade)

At Renaissance Church, we do our best to ensure the safety of kids. This is accomplished through our check-in/out procedures, health guidelines, staff application process, and other policies and practices. Here at Renaissance Church, we understand the need for both physical care and spiritual nourishment. It is our guarantee that we will place a high emphasis on both!

Purpose:

The Children’s Ministry of Renaissance Church exists to inspire and teach kids to become everything that God has intended them to be – thriving, confident and mature followers of Christ who are fully committed to changing the world around them.

Mission:

The mission of Renaissance Children’s Ministries is to inspire and teach kids To Love God, Love People, and Live the Mission as the Mosaic of God, by providing age-appropriate ministry that engages them in discipleship, worship, service, outreach and friendship.

Each area of RenKidz is uniquely designed to teach kids about God in a way that is fun, impactful and age appropriate.

Chris Gonzales

Chris Gonzales was born in Fresno, CA and raised in Medford, Oregon. In 2002 he moved back to the Fresno area where he met his beautiful wife, Ashley.  They have been married for 5 years and have two beautiful daughters Christabelle, 3 1/2 yrs old  and Cadence, 21 months. He Graduated from California Christian College in 2007 with his Bachelor’s in Christian ministries with an emphasis in christian psychology. He has been serving in children’s ministry for 9 years, which he has been pastoring the last 4 years. The Gonzales’ family moved to Roseville to join Renaissance Church staff in August of 2010. Chris has a unique passion to see the family unit restored the way God intended it to be. He has a deep desire and conviction to see children contend for God to move in them and through them to change the world. “Don’t let anyone look down on you because of you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.“ 1 Timothy 4:12.

This eight-week series covers the character qualities found in 2 Peter 1:5-7. This video curriculum will help kids understand how to possess a godly character by hearing examples of Bible characters and by learning how to practically apply it to their daily lives. Parents don’t forget to pick up your FREE Family Guides at the check-in table.  This is a free resource for you and your family to do throughout the week that helps emphasize what your child is learning as they continue to grow in their faith.

Lesson 1: Faith

Kids will hear about how Christ was amazed at the Centurion’s faith and discover that their faith will grow the more they trust God. Matthew 8:5-13

Lesson 2: Goodness

Kids will learn how to have a “God heart” by learning how God was honored by King Josiah’s good decisions to follow Him.          (2 Kings 22:1-7)

Lesson 3: Knowledge

Kids will hear how David was victorious over Goliath. They will learn, that when they are scared or worried, they can know that God will be there for them. (1 Samuel 17:1-58)

Lesson 4: Self-Control

Kids will be taught about Noah’s self-control. They will discover how to gain self-control during frustration times. (Genesis 6:9-9:15)

Lesson 5: Patience

Kids will hear how Joshua’s patience honored God. They will gain understanding of how to show patience to others by listening to God. (Joshua 6: 1-26)

Lesson 6: Service for God

Kids will study how Nehemiah’s service for God blessed him and his country. They will be taught practical ways to serve God by serving others. (Nehemiah 2:1-6:16)

 Lesson 7: Kindness

Kids will hear about the kindness of the Good Samaritan. They will learn that by allowing God’s love to flow through them, they can show kindness to those around them. (Luke 10:25-37)

 Lesson 8: Love

Kids will learn about Jesus’ unconditional love for them and will discover how to love others unconditionally just like Christ loves them. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23 and John 3:16)

Sybil Healy

Sybil serves in our K-5th grade class..  Here is another faithful servant who has been serving on our team even before I arrived in August of 2010.  Sybil does a great job and loves bringing fun and creativity to the class.  Sybil has a great personality and the kids love her snacks.  She always shows up prepared and ready to impact the next generation on world changers!

 

Ashley Gonzales

Ashley is our nursery and toddler coordinator.  She not only does an amazing job in that role but is always going far and beyond for the ministry. She does a great job loving and caring for our infants and toddlers.  She brings fun for the kids  and has a gift of calming children. A great gift to have so parents can feel secure and enjoy service.

Thank you Sybil and Ashley for your hearts and dedication to impacting the lives of our next generation of world changers!

 Kids Summer Camp @ Mt. Lassen

July 23rd-27th

Kids camp is an amazing time to draw close to God. Their are so many distractions, screaming for the attention of our children, it is becomes difficult for them to hear the voice of God speaking to their hearts. At camp, the children will hear the Word of God, worship, play team games, work on team projects, participate in team activities, and get closer to God.

The Registration Cost: $140.00 per child.  

A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is due by June 5th

Family Bowling Day @ Fireside Lanes

April 28th, 12:00-2:00pm

Come out with the whole family and invite all your friends. The cost is $5.00 per person. Price includes shoe rental and 2 games. Bumpers will be available for your young children, so the whole family can have fun. This is an opportunity for your family, to take a break from busy and  demanding schedules, and spend some good fun family time together.  Children in 3rd grade and up are more than welcome to join us in the event their parent and/or guardian is unable to attend. Family Skate Night @ Rollerking

May 19th, 6:00-8:00pm

Come out with the whole family and invite all your friends.  The cost is $5.00 per person. Price includes entrance and skate rental.  Inline skates are additional $4.00. Another opportunity to spend quality time, as a family. Children in 3rd grade and up are more than welcome to join us in the event their parent and/or guardian is unable to attend. Family Swim Party @ Mike Shellito Indoor Pool

June 23rd, 4:30-6:00pm

 

Come out with the whole family and invite all your friends.  The cost is $4.00 per person. What you see is what you get.  They have an obstacle course they put on the water.  This attraction is available for kids who can swim without lifejackets. There is no outside floatation devices allowed, but they do have lifejackets for your inexperience swimmers and young children. This is going to be a great time. Another opportunity to spend some good fun family time together, and take a time out from busy schedules. Children in 3rd grade and up are more than welcome to join us in the event their parent and/or guardian is unable to attend.
